Who can do it?

You can do it!

Whether you're thinking about bike commuting for the first time or you're an experienced rider, this Challenge is for you. If this is your first time biking to work, check out these Biking Tips that will tell you everything you need to know, form what to wear to staying safe.

Because the BCC counts round trip, one-way and part-way bike trips, you can participate no matter how long your commute is. Take the bus to work and bike home? That counts! Carpool part of the way and bike the rest? That counts too!

Are you an employer?

All Chicagoland area workplaces are welcome to participate in the Bike to Work Challenge. It's a free, friendly competition that any employee can take part in!

You don't need official permission to register yourself or your workplace, but if your company has an employee transportation coordinator, you might want to ask that person if they'd like to lead the Bike to Work Challenge for your workplace.

What if I don't have a bike?

You don't need anything fancy. There are plenty of great deals out there, used or new! If you're not ready to commit to owning, borrow one, rent one, or use a bike share program like Divvy

What if my bike doesn't work?

Get it in for a tune-up - most shops offer a basic (yet thorough) level of service for around $75-100.
